Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Gen AI / NLP Engineer with 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in Large Language Models (LLMs) and Small Language Models (SLMs) to design, develop, and deploy advanced generative AI solutions. The ideal candidate will build multilingual NLP systems, implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines for regulatory document processing, and ensure robust guardrail mechanisms to control hallucinations and ensure compliance.

This role requires strong expertise in Python, ML frameworks, vector databases, model fine-tuning, and evaluation methodologies, with preference for experience in the pharmaceutical domain.

Key Responsibilities

1. Generative AI System Development

• Design, develop, and deploy LLM/SLM-based systems for enterprise Gen AI use cases.
• Implement multilingual NLP capabilities for document processing and conversational AI systems.
• Develop scalable AI solutions aligned with business and regulatory requirements.

2. RAG Pipeline Development

• Build and optimize Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines for regulatory and compliance documents.
• Integrate vector databases (e.g., FAISS, Pinecone, Weaviate, Chroma, etc.) for efficient document indexing and retrieval.
• Implement semantic search and embedding strategies for domain-specific knowledge bases.

3. Model Fine-Tuning & Optimization

• Fine-tune LLMs/SLMs using domain-specific datasets.
• Apply techniques such as LoRA, PEFT, instruction tuning, and supervised fine-tuning.
• Optimize model performance, latency, and inference efficiency.

4. Guardrails & Responsible AI

• Design and implement guardrails to mitigate hallucinations, bias, and compliance risks.
• Establish content validation, confidence scoring, and safety filters.
• Ensure responsible AI practices aligned with regulatory standards.

5. Evaluation & Quality Assurance

• Independently evaluate generative outputs using qualitative and quantitative metrics.
• Develop evaluation frameworks for accuracy, factual grounding, coherence, and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct A/B testing and continuous model performance monitoring.

6. Prompt Engineering

• Design and optimize prompts for domain-specific use cases (pharma experience preferred).
• Develop structured prompting techniques and system instructions to enhance response quality.

Technical Skills & Competencies

• Strong programming skills in Python
• Experience with ML/NLP frameworks: PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, LangChain, LlamaIndex
• Experience working with LLMs/SLMs (OpenAI, Llama, Mistral, etc.)
• Hands-on expertise in RAG architecture design and implementation
• Knowledge of vector databases and embedding models
• Experience with model fine-tuning techniques (LoRA, PEFT, RLHF preferred)
• Understanding of prompt engineering and output evaluation methodologies
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) is a plus
• Knowledge of pharma regulatory documentation and compliance frameworks (preferred)

Qualifications

• BE / MCA (Computer Science, IT, AI, or related field)
• Certification in Gen AI / Python (preferred)
• 3–6 years of experience in NLP / ML / AI engineering (Gen AI experience preferred)
