Job Title : Python Developer - Automation (Linux + Testing)

Location : Chennai, India

Employment Type : Full-Time

Hybrid / Onsite : Onsite presence in Chennai required, with potential for hybrid work

Summary

Were hiring a Python developer with strong Linux skills and a track record of writing unit tests to support automation implementations for new clients. Youll maintain automation workflows, build rigorous test suites, and help us deliver reliable, scalable integrations in production environments.

What youll do

Design, build, and maintain Python services that automate operational workflows and data exchanges.
Create comprehensive unit and integration tests to safeguard reliability and prevent regressions.
Operate comfortably in Linux : scripting, service management, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Develop CI / CD-friendly test harnesses, fixtures, and mocks for external systems and APIs.
Instrument code for observability (logs / metrics) and improve performance and scalability.
Collaborate with implementation teams to onboard new clients and tailor automations to their environments.
Write clear technical documentation and runbooks for deployment and support.
Participate in code reviews and uphold engineering best practices, security, and privacy standards.

Minimum qualifications

2+ years of professional Python experience building production services or automation.

Proficiency with Linux (shell, processes, permissions, networking basics, system services).

Solid unit-testing background, plus experience with test doubles and coverage tools.

Comfort with Git-based workflows and modern CI / CD pipelines.

Strong debugging skills and a methodical approach to incident resolution.

Excellent communication and documentation habits.

Work according to the USA business day, approximately 6 : 00 PM to 03 : 00 AM (next day) IST

Preferred qualifications

Containerization (Docker) and cloud services (GCP).

Security-minded development : secrets management, least-privilege access, and compliance awareness.

Background integrating third-party systems or working in regulated environments.
