Job descriptionStrong expertise in Oracle Linux 7 / 8 / 9 administration and upgrades. Proven experience with Terraform for IaaS provisioning and automation. Hands-on with YUM / DNF, kernel upgrades, systemd, SELinux, firewalld, networking. Proficiency in automation / scripting (Shell, Python, Ansible). Experience with virtualization (VMware / KVM) and cloud (AWS / Azure / OCI). Solid understanding of OS security hardening & compliance frameworks. Prior experience upgrading Oracle Linux in large-scale enterprise environments. Exposure to Oracle DB, WebLogic, or enterprise middleware on Linux. Linux certifications (Oracle OCA / OCP, RHCSA / RHCE).
Job Description – Oracle Linux Engineer
About the Role :
Oracle Linux Engineer to lead our Oracle Linux 7 to 9 upgrade program and strengthen our Linux operations and automation capabilities. This role will focus on lifecycle management, infrastructure automation, and long-term stability of our Linux estate.
Key Responsibilities :
- Drive the upgrade of Oracle Linux 7 to 9 across development, staging, and production.
- Own end-to-end OS lifecycle management, patching, and compliance.
- Automate provisioning, configuration, and upgrades using Terraform, Ansible, and scripting (Shell / Python).
- Collaborate with application, database, and infrastructure teams to validate workloads on OL9.
- Implement security hardening, kernel tuning, and system optimization.
- Provide operational support, root cause analysis, and performance tuning.
- Maintain documentation, standards, and best practices for Linux platforms.
