Senior Vice President Retail Sales (South India) Overview

We are looking for a seasoned and performance-driven Senior Vice President Retail Sales to lead and scale the companys offline business across General Trade (GT), Modern Trade (MT), and Standalone Modern Trade (SAMT) channels.

Currently, the brands products are available in 1,500+ stores across Tamil Nadu and Kerala, with an ambitious roadmap to expand to 1.5 lakh stores across South India within the next three years. This leadership role will play a pivotal part in shaping and executing that growth strategy combining strategic thinking with strong on-ground execution.

Were seeking a leader who has successfully built and scaled retail distribution networks, has deep market understanding of South India, and is ready to spend significant time in the field to drive performance and expansion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the Retail Sales P&L across all offline channels General Trade, Modern Trade, and SAMT.
  • Lead, develop, and manage a 2530-member sales organization including Regional Managers, Area Sales Managers, FSIs, and Key Account Managers.
  • Design and implement a scalable distribution strategy to drive expansion from 1,500 to 1.5 lakh stores across South India.
  • Strengthen distributor and stockist networks to ensure higher availability, frequency of billing, and product mix optimization.
  • Achieve consistent primary and secondary sales growth, improving both market share and outlet reach.
  • Partner with Trade Marketing, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure strong alignment on trade schemes, inventory flow, and cost efficiencies.
  • Track and manage key sales KPIs : sales value, outlet coverage, team productivity, ROI on trade spends, and profitability metrics.
  • Build and nurture a high-performance culture within the sales organization with clear accountability and execution discipline.
  • Enable collaboration across GT, MT, SAMT, and Q-Commerce to deliver unified business growth and channel synergy.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 10 to 15 years of experience in FMCG / Consumer Sales, with at least 4+ years in a regional or national leadership role.
  • Proven experience in scaling retail distribution networks across large geographies.
  • Strong commercial understanding and operational expertise in South India markets, particularly Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
  • Demonstrated P&L ownership with a track record of balancing growth, margins, and efficiency.
  • Strong skills in distributor management, trade relationships, analytics, and negotiations.
  • Data-driven, analytical mindset with comfort in working with dashboards and productivity metrics.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% across South India.
  • Fluency in Tamil is mandatory; working knowledge of Malayalam, Telugu, or Kannada preferred
