Role Summary:
- The Head - SEO will define and lead the overall organic growth strategy for the organization. This role goes beyond execution. It requires strategic leadership, cross-functional alignment, innovation, and performance ownership.
- You will be responsible for building a high-performing SEO team, driving sustainable traffic and lead growth, strengthening brand authority, and delivering measurable ROI from organic channels.
- You will work closely with Content, Tech, Performance Marketing, Brand, Admissions, and Leadership teams to position the organization as the top-ranking and most trusted K-12 brand in search.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Enterprise SEO Strategy & Vision:
- Define the long-term SEO vision aligned with business growth, admissions targets, and brand positioning.
- Develop annual and quarterly SEO roadmaps across technical, content, local, and authority-building initiatives.
- Identify new growth opportunities including AI search visibility, voice search, and emerging SERP features.
- Own SEO forecasting, budgeting, and ROI planning.
2. Team Leadership & Capability Building:
- Build, mentor, and scale an in-house SEO team (technical SEO, content SEO, outreach).
- Establish SOPs, governance frameworks, and performance benchmarks.
- Drive a culture of experimentation, learning, and innovation within the team.
- Manage external agencies and vendor partnerships where applicable.
3. Technical SEO Governance:
- Oversee enterprise-level site architecture, indexation strategy, structured data implementation, and Core Web Vitals optimization.
- Ensure scalability across 110+ location pages and program-specific landing pages.
- Collaborate with Product & Engineering to prioritize SEO within development sprints.
- Lead website migrations, domain strategy, and risk mitigation planning.
4. Content & Search Experience Leadership:
- Define keyword universe and content clusters aligned with parent/student search intent.
- Guide editorial strategy using data-backed insights.
- Ensure strong internal linking architecture and conversion optimization.
- Leverage SEO insights to influence broader brand messaging and campaign strategy.
5. Authority & Reputation Management:
- Develop large-scale white-hat digital PR and backlink acquisition strategies.
- Oversee brand reputation management and review strategy across 110+ campuses.
- Strengthen E-E-A-T signals across all digital assets.
6. Multi-Location & Local SEO Strategy:
- Architect scalable local SEO frameworks for all campuses.
- Standardize Google Business Profile optimization and review management processes.
- Drive hyperlocal rankings for competitive education-related queries.
7. Analytics, Insights & Growth Optimization:
- Define SEO KPIs tied directly to revenue and admissions.
- Build executive dashboards using GA4, GSC, and Looker Studio.
- Present monthly and quarterly performance insights to senior leadership.
- Lead CRO and SEO experimentation to continuously improve rankings, CTR, and lead conversions.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 8+ years of progressive SEO experience, including at least 3+ years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of scaling organic traffic and revenue for multi-location or enterprise websites.
- Strong understanding of technical SEO at scale (large site architecture, schema, migrations).
- Hands-on experience with AI-driven SEO tools (e.g., DataForSEO) and execution of large-scale Programmatic SEO initiatives.
- Expertise in GA4, Google Search Console, Looker Studio, SEMrush/Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, Tag Manager.
- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership skills.
- Experience managing large websites with 100+ location pages preferred.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in EdTech, Education, or multi-location consumer brands.
- Exposure to international SEO strategies.
- Experience working with CMS platforms and development teams.
