About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented IT Installation Specialist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up servers, installing and commissioning proprietary software on Surface Mount Technology (SMT) machines, and ensuring seamless system integration. You will leverage your expertise in Linux environments, scripting, and debugging to maintain the operational integrity of our production line equipment. This role requires excellent technical aptitude, strong communication skills, and a collaborative mindset to work effectively with engineering and production teams.

Responsibilities

Server Setup & Configuration :

Install, configure, and maintain server hardware and operating systems (primarily Linux-based) that support our SMT production lines.

Software Installation & Commissioning :

Install, update, and commission specialized software on SMT machines (e.g., pick-and-place, screen printers, reflow ovens), ensuring all components are functioning according to specifications.

Scripting & Automation :

Execute and troubleshoot Linux shell scripts to automate installation processes, system checks, and data collection tasks.

System Debugging :

Run diagnostic and debugging programs to identify and resolve software, hardware, and network issues affecting SMT equipment.

Collaboration & Support :

Work closely with process engineers, machine operators, and software developers to ensure successful installations and provide ongoing technical support.

Documentation :

Create and maintain detailed documentation for installation procedures, system configurations, and troubleshooting steps.

Required Skills

Proven experience as an IT Specialist, Field Service Engineer, or a similar role.

Strong proficiency in Linux operating systems and command-line interface.

Experience with running and modifying shell scripts (e.g., Bash).

Hands-on experience with server setup, network configuration, and hardware installation.

Preferred Skills

Demonstrated ability to run debugging programs and perform systematic troubleshooting.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical team members.

A strong teamwork mindset with a collaborative and problem-solving approach.

Qualification : B. Tech (In any field) with 4 years of work experience.
