Senior Staff Software Development Engineer

Description : Role Overview :

As a Senior Staff Backend Engineer, you will lead the design and development of distributed systems and next-generation platforms that power Coupangs global e-commerce experience. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams across geographies to solve complex problems at scale, while mentoring engineers and driving technical excellence across the organization.

What You Will Do :

• Lead the development of scalable and fault-tolerant backend systems
• Define and execute technical strategy in alignment with product roadmaps
• Drive architectural decisions and promote best practices across engineering teams
• Collaborate with senior leadership to prioritize and plan strategic initiatives
• Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement through Agile methodologies
• Own operational metrics and ensure high system reliability and observability
• Mentor and grow engineering talent through coaching and technical guidance
• Establish and manage operational support processes for backend services
