Job Title : Senior Database Administrator (DBA)

Location : Noida

Experience : 4-5 Years

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Senior Database Architect & DBA with 4–5 years of experience in

designing, implementing, and administering enterprise-grade SQL databases. The role

blends strategic database architecture with day-to-day database administration, ensuring

optimal performance, security, and availability of mission-critical systems. The ideal candidate

will be hands-on with SQL Server (and preferably Oracle / MySQL / PostgreSQL), and experienced

in high availability (HA), disaster recovery (DR), automation, and enterprise-scale data

management.

Key Responsibilities

Database Architecture & Design

Design scalable and secure database architectures for enterprise workloads.
Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models aligned with business needs.
Collaborate with developers and solution architects to optimize schema and queries.
Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements for the database

landscape.

Database Administration (Routine & Advanced)

Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server instances (on-premises and cloud).

Perform routine DBA tasks including :

o Daily monitoring of database health, logs, and performance dashboards.

o Regular database backups, restores, and integrity checks.

o User account provisioning and role-based access control (RBAC).

o Managing storage allocation, index maintenance, and statistics updates.

o Scheduling and monitoring SQL Server Agent jobs.

o Applying patches, service packs, and upgrades.

o Troubleshooting and resolving blocking, deadlocks, and failed jobs.

Ensure high availability through clustering, Always On Availability Groups,

replication, and log shipping.

Implement disaster recovery strategies and perform regular DR drills.Security & Compliance

Implement data encryption, auditing, and access controls.

Monitor for security vulnerabilities and apply fixes proactively.

Ensure compliance with organizational and industry standards (ISO 27001, GDPR,

HIPAA, etc.).

Performance Monitoring & Optimization

Use tools like SQL Profiler, Extended Events, DMV queries, and Query Store.

Tune queries, indexes, and stored procedures for optimal performance.

Conduct capacity planning and performance forecasting.

Collaboration & Leadership

Work closely with development, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to integrate

databases into CI / CD pipelines.

Provide mentorship and knowledge transfer to junior DBAs and developers.

Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in database technologies during solution design

and reviews.

Required Skills & Competencies

4–5 years of proven experience as a Database Architect / DBA in enterprise

environments.

Expertise in Microsoft SQL Server (2016 / 2019 / 2022) administration and architecture.

Hands-on experience in backup / recovery, performance tuning, and HA / DR

solutions.

Strong T-SQL skills (queries, stored procedures, triggers, functions).

Knowledge of cloud databases (Azure SQL, AWS RDS, Azure Managed Instance).

Familiarity with ETL pipelines (SSIS / ADF), BI tools (SSRS / Power BI) is a plus.

Exposure to NoSQL / Big Data systems (Cosmos DB, MongoDB, Hadoop) desirable.

Proactive, detail-oriented, and customer-focused mindset.Education & Certifications (Preferred)

Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, IT, or related field.

Microsoft Certified : Azure Database Administrator Associate or SQL Server Database

Administration.

Certifications in Performance Tuning, Security, or Cloud Databases are

advantageous.
