JOB DESCRIPTION :
Role : Associate Merchandiser / Merchandiser

Role Overview :
The Merchandiser will play a pivotal role in curating, planning, and managing merchandise across all outlets, ensuring a fine balance between brand identity, designer representation, and commercial performance. The role calls for a keen eye for fashion, an understanding of luxury retail dynamics, and the ability to translate design aesthetics into strong retail performance.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Curation & Buying
Partner with leading designers and fashion houses to select and curate seasonal collections that align with brand vision and clientele preferences.
Attend previews, lookbook presentations, and fashion weeks to identify key trends and exclusive pieces.
Plan and finalize product assortments for each store, ensuring a balanced mix across categories, price points, and designers.
Negotiate margins and order terms while maintaining strong relationships with designers.
2. Merchandise Planning & Allocation
Create merchandise plans for each store based on sales history, customer profile, and store positioning.
Allocate collections strategically across outlets to optimize visibility and sales.
Track deliveries and ensure timely product flow from designers to stores.
Monitor stock rotation, replenishment, and inter-store transfers.
3. Business & Sales Analysis
Review weekly sales performance by category, designer, and store.
Identify top sellers, emerging trends, and slow movers; plan reorders or markdowns accordingly.
Prepare reports and insights to guide future buying and assortment decisions.
4. Designer & Vendor Relations
Serve as the key liaison between the brand and designer partners.
Maintain regular communication regarding product availability, exclusives, and capsule collections.
Coordinate special trunk shows, collaborations, and designer visits.
5. Visual & Brand Presentation
Collaborate with the visual merchandising team to ensure product presentation reflects each designer’s aesthetic and the brand’s luxury positioning.
Contribute ideas for seasonal themes, window displays, and in-store storytelling.
Profile Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Management, Luxury Brand Management, or related field.
2–4 years of experience in merchandising or buying for luxury / premium apparel brands.
Strong understanding of Indian designer fashion and luxury retail consumers.
Analytical yet creative mindset with strong attention to detail.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
Proficiency in Excel, ERP / POS systems, and retail analytics.
Strong fashion sensibility and trend awareness
Relationship-oriented with a luxury brand mindset
Ability to balance aesthetics with commercial performance
High sense of ownership and accountability
Proficiency in excel is a must
Excellent English skills, with a special focus on grammar, spelling, and punctuation
