Key Requirements Explained

Proficiency in SAP ABAP Development for HANA

  • You should  write and debug ABAP code  that utilizes  HANAs in-memory computing capabilities .
  • Understand  HANA-specific ABAP syntax, optimization, and performance tuning .

Strong Understanding of SAP ABAP Development for HANA

  • Beyond basic ABAP, you need to :
  • Work with  Core Data Services (CDS) views .
  • Use  AMDP (Stored Procedures managed via ABAP) .
  • Integrate  HANA database features  within ABAP reports and programs.

    • Designing and Configuring Applications using SAP ABAP for HANA

  • You will design :
  • Custom reports
  • Interfaces
  • Enhancements (User exits, BADI)
  • SAP Fiori apps backend (often using ABAP OData)
  • Configure and align applications for  HANA optimization  (e.g., pushing logic to the database).

    • Knowledge of SAP HANA Database Integration

  • Understanding how  ABAP applications interact with the HANA database :
  • Data modeling in HANA
  • Using HANA views in ABAP
  • Consuming HANA artifacts (CDS, Calculation Views) efficiently
  • Leveraging  real-time data processing .

    • Performance Tuning and Optimization

  • Using  SQL Trace, Runtime Analysis (SAT), and SQL Monitor (SQLM)  to analyze and optimize ABAP code on HANA.
  • Replacing  slow ABAP loops with efficient SQL operations .
  • Applying  best practices to reduce database load and improve execution times .

    • Skills Required

    Cds Views, Amdp, Performance Tuning
