API Integration Engineer - Azure & Kafka (Remote)

Position Overview :

We are seeking an experienced API Integration Engineer with 5+ years of expertise in Azure and Kafka to join our remote team. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and maintain scalable API integrations, ensuring seamless data flow across systems while adhering to security and performance standards.

Key Responsibilities :

• Design, develop, and deploy RESTful APIs using OpenAPI / Swagger for internal and third-party integrations.
• Implement event-driven architectures using Kafka for pub / sub messaging and real-time data streaming.
• Integrate with third-party systems (e.g., MES, SharePoint) and legacy platforms, ensuring data consistency.
• Secure APIs using OAuth2, JWT, API keys, and Azure Managed Identity.
• Conduct unit / integration testing and support UAT for APIs and connectors.
• Maintain clear technical documentation for APIs, data mappings, and integration workflows.
• Troubleshoot and optimize performance of integration pipelines in Azure environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align solutions with business requirements.

Technical Requirements :

5+ years of hands-on experience in API development, integration, and data transformation.

Proficiency in Azure integration services (e.g., API Management, Logic Apps, Event Grid).

Strong expertise in Kafka (event streaming, brokers, topics, connectors) and asynchronous processing.

Deep understanding of authentication / authorization (OAuth2, JWT, SAML) and API security best practices.

Familiarity with integration patterns (point-to-point, hub-and-spoke, ETL) and Kafka-based architectures.

Experience with CI / CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, ARM).

Knowledge of monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, Prometheus) and logging (ELK, Splunk).

Preferred Qualifications :

Certifications in Azure (e.g., AZ-204, AZ-400) or Kafka (Confluent).

Experience with Kubernetes (AKS) and containerized deployments.

Background in manufacturing, healthcare, or finance domains.
