About the Role

The Head of Conversion Rate Optimization is a senior leadership position responsible for driving and overseeing CRO strategies across our portfolio of high-growth clients. This role combines strategic thinking with hands-on expertise, requiring you to lead CRO initiatives, mentor team members, and interface directly with C-level clients to deliver transformational business results.

You will collaborate closely with copywriters, designers, web developers, and cross-functional teams while taking ownership of the agency's CRO methodology and service delivery. Your responsibilities will include developing enterprise-level Conversion Rate Optimization strategies for our clients, conducting comprehensive website audits to identify high-impact opportunities, designing and overseeing advanced A / B and multivariate testing programs, and working with internal teams and client executives to execute, monitor, and scale optimization initiatives that drive measurable revenue growth.

General Responsibilities

The responsibilities of our Head of Conversion Rate Optimization include, but are not limited to :

  • Leading the development and implementation of sophisticated, data-driven CRO strategies for our agency's eCommerce clients to enhance their website performance and maximize conversion rates
  • Defining and evolving the agency's CRO methodology, frameworks, and service offerings to maintain competitive advantage in the market
  • Performing and overseeing comprehensive brand audits of clients' websites to identify strategic areas for improvement and high-impact optimization opportunities
  • Conducting and directing in-depth analysis of user behavior using advanced analytical CRO tools, user feedback, heatmaps, and session recordings to identify trends and strategic opportunities for optimization
  • Designing, executing, and managing complex A / B and multivariate testing programs to validate hypotheses and measure the impact of CRO changes implemented
  • Leading the optimization of brands' landing and product pages, checkout flows, and overall website architecture with a focus on revenue impact
  • Building, mentoring, and managing a team of CRO specialists, establishing clear performance metrics and professional development pathways
  • Collaborating closely with copywriters, designers, developers, and cross-functional teams to implement best practices and innovative solutions that enhance user experience and reduce funnel friction points
  • Serving as the senior CRO advisor for key client accounts, building trusted relationships with C-level executives and senior stakeholders
  • Leading executive-level client presentations, quarterly business reviews, and strategic planning sessions with clear, actionable insights
  • Monitoring and reporting on the performance of CRO initiatives, providing strategic recommendations and business impact analysis for continuous improvement
  • Translating complex data and test results into clear, compelling business recommendations for clients and internal stakeholders to ensure informed decision-making
  • Staying at the forefront of the latest trends, tools, and innovations in the CRO, e-commerce, and digital marketing industries to continuously refine strategies and practices
  • Maintaining thorough documentation of all CRO projects, including test results, strategic frameworks, and client interactions to track progress and outcomes
  • Leading the development of CRO case studies, whitepapers, and thought leadership content for marketing and business development purposes
  • Contributing to new business pitches and proposals with strategic CRO recommendations and expertise
  • Overall, the Head of Conversion Rate Optimization will play a critical leadership role in driving measurable, transformational growth for our clients by leveraging data-driven insights, leading high-performing teams, maintaining strategic client relationships, and establishing industry-leading optimization practices that enhance user experiences and increase conversion rates across eCommerce platforms.

You need the ability to work under pressure, manage multiple high-stakes client relationships, and oversee complex CRO strategies with exceptional attention to detail and advanced technical abilities.

The ideal person for this role is a strategic thinker and rational problem-solver who can work efficiently at both the macro and micro levels, possesses exceptional communication and presentation skills for C-level interactions, and demonstrates proven leadership capabilities. Key Requirements

  • The Head of Conversion Rate Optimization position has the following key requirements :
  • A minimum of 7+ years of experience in the CRO field, with at least 3+ years in a senior or leadership capacity
  • Proven experience in a senior CRO leadership role, specifically within the eCommerce industry, preferably in an agency environment
  • A proven track record of leading CRO strategies that delivered significant conversion rate and revenue improvements for eCommerce clients
  • Exceptional client-facing and communication skills with demonstrated experience presenting to and influencing C-level executives and senior stakeholders
  • Experience building, mentoring, and leading CRO teams or optimization functions
  • Expert-level proficiency in analytical tools such as Google Analytics (GA4), Hotjar, Microsoft Clarity, , VWO, Optimizely, or similar platforms, as well as advanced data analysis skills to provide strategic, actionable insights to clients
  • A deep understanding of UX / UI principles and how they affect conversion rates and overall business performance
  • Advanced expertise in running A / B and multivariate tests from strategy through execution, including experimental design and statistical analysis
  • Extensive experience with eCommerce platforms (such as Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce) and the specific challenges involved in optimizing the user experience at scale
  • Strong familiarity with heatmaps, session recordings, user feedback tools, and qualitative research methodologies
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills for effectively presenting test results, strategic recommendations, and business impact to both internal teams and C-level clients (direct C-suite client communication is a core requirement of this role)
  • A proactive, strategic mindset with a strong focus on delivering high-quality, high-impact results
  • Being able to work independently while also providing leadership and direction to cross-functional teams
  • Being able to handle multiple complex projects, client accounts, and deadlines simultaneously
