Job description

Design and Development Engineer

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Engineer to join our Power Systems and Solutions (PSS) GaN team at Infineon Technologies. The selected candidate will contribute to the development of next-generation SMPS (Switched-Mode Power Supply) applications, working closely with a cross-functional team in a dynamic and innovation-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities :

Contribute to the design and development of high-performance SMPS applications using Infineon GaN technology.
Develop and maintain Matlab / Simulink models to support automated code generation.
Program and implement SMPS control algorithms in C, reusing and adapting existing code frameworks.
Design and optimize PCBs for power applications, with a focus on compactness, reliability, and thermal efficiency.
Perform hardware validation and application verification in the lab, including testing and measurements.
Ensure complete ownership of assigned design modules—from conception to validation and documentation.
Collaborate with global teams to ensure design quality and robustness in line with

industry standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

B.E. / B.Tech or M.E. / M.Tech in Electronics / Electrical Engineering.

Strong programming skills in C and experience with Matlab / Simulink.

Basic understanding of Switch Mode Power Supplies (SMPS).

Familiarity with analog components (e.g., op-amps, comparators, gate drivers) is a plus.

Hands-on exposure to lab measurements and testing equipment (oscilloscope, multimeter, etc.).

Basic knowledge of PCB design, preferably using Altium Designer.

Excellent communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a proactive working attitude.
