Senior Conservation Architect at Somaya Sampat
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Conservation Architect to lead heritage conservation projects across India. In this role, you will oversee the restoration and preservation of culturally significant buildings, ensuring they retain their historical integrity while meeting contemporary standards and functionality. The Senior Conservation Architect will be responsible for project planning, client consultations, obtaining necessary regulatory approvals, and overseeing on-site work. You will also engage in documenting and advocating for heritage conservation best practices, ensuring that each project not only preserves the past but also educates and enriches the community
Desired Profile :
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 12-18 years of experience in architectural conservation, with a strong portfolio of completed heritage projects. We’re looking for someone who can not only manage projects end-to-end but also mentor junior architects and collaborate closely with historians, engineers, and local communities.
Academic Requirements :
A Master’s degree in Architecture, specializing in Conservation or Heritage Management, is preferred. A Bachelor’s in Architecture with significant conservation experience will also be considered.
Proficiencies :
You should be proficient in standard architectural design software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp, as well as conservation-specific tools and methodologies. Familiarity with GIS for heritage mapping and a good understanding of sustainable conservation practices are a plus.
