Key Responsibilities :

Conduct vision tests, refraction, and prescribe corrective lenses

Diagnose common eye conditions like myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, and presbyopia

Assist ophthalmologists in pre- and post-operative care , as well as screening for diseases like glaucoma or cataracts

Counsel patients on eye care, visual hygiene, contact lens use, and spectacle maintenance

Interpret diagnostic results from retinoscopy, tonometry, slit-lamp, and visual field tests

Maintain detailed patient records and documentation

Participate in community outreach eye screening camps as required

Recommend further referral to ophthalmologists for advanced medical or surgical management
