Title : SQL Server Database Administrator (with Snowflake Exposure)

Location : Hyderabad or Pune, India (Hybrid)

Working Hours : EST

A need of someone primarily focused on SQL Server, with some exposure or understanding of Snowflake.

This role supports analytics and BI infrastructure by managing Microsoft SQL Server environments (Azure SQL). The administrator focuses on secure, performant, and scalable database operations, while collaborating closely with the Snowflake Admin to ensure data platform consistency and interoperability.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Environment Setup & Configuration :

  • Install, configure, and manage SQL Server instances and databases.
  • Implement access control, backup, and recovery frameworks.
  • Manage authentication via MS Entra ID / AD and maintain system compatibility.

2. Performance & Optimization :

  • Monitor and tune query performance using execution plans and indexing.
  • Optimize storage, compute, and maintenance routines for efficiency.
  • Apply cost optimization and capacity management strategies.

    • 3. Security & Governance :

  • Enforce encryption, data masking, and role-based access control.
  • Manage audit logs, backups, and compliance documentation.
  • Coordinate with IT security to maintain patching and baseline standards.

    • 4. Operational Support :

  • Troubleshoot replication, performance, and access issues.
  • Support integrations with Snowflake, Power BI, and Azure data services.
  • Maintain operational documentation and ensure SLA adherence.

    • 5. Automation & Monitoring :

  • Develop automation scripts (T-SQL, PowerShell) for maintenance tasks.
  • Configure monitoring tools and CI / CD integrations for proactive alerts.
  • Continuously review automation for performance and compliance.

    • 6. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement :

  • Work with Snowflake Admin, data engineers, and analytics teams to align database operations.
  • Support data migrations, schema evolution, and platform upgrades.
  • Ensure data integrity and minimal downtime during changes.

    • Preferred Skills & Experience :

  • 3+ years of SQL Server administration experience.
  • Strong performance tuning, security, and automation skills.
  • Familiarity with Snowflake, Azure SQL, and Power BI.
  • Microsoft Certified : Azure Database Administrator Associate preferred.
