Manufacturing Automation Specialist

Tata Electronics (a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons Pvt. Ltd.) is building India’s first AI-enabled state-of-the-art Semiconductor Foundry. This facility will produce chips for applications such as power management IC, display drivers, microcontrollers (MCU) and high-performance computing logic, addressing the growing demand in markets such as automotive, computing and data storage, wireless communications and artificial intelligence.

Job Summary :

Looking for a skilled Automation Engineer with 3–5 years of hands-on experience in semiconductor or OSAT manufacturing . The candidate will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and optimizing automation systems for front-end and back-end assembly, test, and packaging processes. This role requires close collaboration with manufacturing, MES, IT / OT, and equipment engineering teams to improve factory throughput, yield, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities :

• Design, deploy, and maintain automation solutions across packaging, test, and probing lines.
• Integrate equipment with MES and other factory systems (e.G., SECS / GEM, OPC, PLC, SCADA).
• Develop and support automation scripts, APIs, and logic for data acquisition and tool control.
• Lead or support Industry 4.0 initiatives, such as smart manufacturing, predictive maintenance, and robotics integration.
• Troubleshoot automation failures and ensure high equipment uptime.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather automation requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
• Develop and maintain system documentation, validation protocols, and SOPs.
• Monitor and improve automation system performance through KPIs and continuous improvement practices.
