E-commerce Technical Project Manager( Bigcommerce / Shopify)

Job DescriptionLocation : RemoteJob Type : ContractAbout the Role : We are seeking an E-commerce Technical Project Manager with mandatory hands-on experience in managing BigCommerce or Shopify projects. Candidates must have led end-to-end e-commerce implementations specifically on BigCommerce (preferred) or Shopify .This role requires someone who understands the BigCommerce ecosystem — from setup, theme customization, and integrations to store launch and post-deployment optimization. The ideal candidate has delivered multiple BigCommerce-focused (or Shopify-focused) projects while working closely with developers, clients, and business stakeholders to create high-quality e-commerce experiences.Key Responsibilities : Manage the full lifecycle of BigCommerce / Shopify projects — from requirements gathering and sprint planning to deployment and post-launch optimization.Act as the primary point of contact between clients and internal teams for all e-commerce project deliverables.Collaborate with developers and designers to deliver custom storefronts, APIs, and integrations.Oversee migration projects to BigCommerce or Shopify from platforms like Magento, WooCommerce, or custom systems.Ensure timely and high-quality project delivery aligned with scope, timelines, and budget.Identify and implement BigCommerce / Shopify apps and third-party integrations to enhance site functionality.Monitor QA, testing, and performance to ensure flawless store launches.Provide proactive communication to clients and stakeholders on project status, risks, and mitigation plans.Drive continuous improvement in project processes, especially for e-commerce delivery workflows.Required Skills & Qualifications : Minimum 3+ years of proven experience as an E-commerce Project Manager — managing BigCommerce or Shopify projects is mandatory.Strong understanding of BigCommerce and / or Shopify platform architecture, APIs, customizations, and integrations.Experience in migration, theme customization, and store setup on BigCommerce or Shopify.Familiarity with cross-functional teams working on SaaS e-commerce platforms.Excellent organizational, planning, and multitasking abilities.Experience with Agile / Scrum methodologies.Proficiency in Jira, Trello, or Asana for project tracking.Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.Good understanding of e-commerce operations — product catalog, checkout, payments, shipping, and fulfillment workflows.Interested?
