We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic E-Commerce Business Analyst to join our dynamic team in Ahmedabad. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of e-commerce platforms, digital marketing, data analytics, and user experience. This role is crucial in driving our online business growth by analyzing market trends, identifying opportunities, optimizing our e-commerce operations, and translating business needs into technical requirements.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, marketing, sales, and IT, to ensure our e-commerce initiatives are aligned with business objectives and deliver a seamless customer experience.
Key Responsibilities :
Strategic Analysis & Insight Generation :
- Conduct in-depth analysis of e-commerce performance metrics, sales data, customer behavior, website traffic, conversion funnels, and market trends to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Perform competitive analysis to benchmark our e-commerce capabilities and identify best practices.
- Utilize analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, internal dashboards) to extract actionable insights and present them to stakeholders.
Requirements Gathering & Documentation :
Collaborate with business stakeholders (marketing, sales, operations) to understand their needs, challenges, and vision for e-commerce enhancements.Elicit, analyze, document, and manage functional and non-functional requirements, use cases, user stories, and acceptance criteria for new e-commerce features, platform integrations, and improvements.Create detailed documentation, including Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Functional Specification Documents (FSDs), process flows, and wireframes.Project Management & Implementation Support :
Act as a liaison between business units and technical development teams (developers, QA) throughout the project lifecycle.Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, ensuring business objectives are clearly communicated and understood.Support UAT (User Acceptance Testing) by developing test cases, coordinating testing efforts, and validating solutions against business requirements.Assist in change management activities, including training users and preparing documentation for new features.E-Commerce Platform Optimization :
Identify and recommend enhancements to website usability, navigation, search functionality, product display, checkout process, and mobile responsiveness.Analyze the performance of digital marketing campaigns and provide insights for optimization.Evaluate third-party tools and integrations (payment gateways, shipping providers, CRM, ERP) to improve efficiency and customer experience.Data-Driven Decision Making :
Develop and monitor KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) related to e-commerce performance.Prepare regular reports and dashboards summarizing key metrics, trends, and recommendations for leadership.Champion a data-driven approach to all e-commerce initiatives.Qualifications :
Education : Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Master's degree is a Minimum 7+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, specifically focused on e-commerce platforms and digital products.
Proven experience working with major e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify Plus, Magento, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, SAP Hybris, BigCommerce).Demonstrated experience in gathering, documenting, and managing business requirements for complex e-commerce projects.Technical Skills :
Strong proficiency in web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics 4, Adobe Analytics).Familiarity with A / B testing methodologies and tools.Understanding of SEO, SEM, and other digital marketing concepts.Experience with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, Trello).Proficiency in creating flowcharts, wireframes, and mockups using tools like Balsamiq, Figma, or Lucidchart.Basic understanding of databases and SQL is a plus.Soft Skills :
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Strong organizational and time management skills.Proactive, results-oriented, and a continuous learner.Preferred Skills :
