We’re looking for a skilled Wordpress Developer to join our team at The Business Toolkit as a full-time contractor.
You will work closely with our consultants and report directly to the Web Director, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables. Your expertise in modern web languages and WordPress will be crucial in creating and maintaining robust, user-friendly, and engaging online experiences for our clients.
Your day-to-day will include developing wordpress websites, integrating with third-party tools, optimizing performance, and troubleshooting. Strong communication, time management, and attention to detail are essential.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Website Development and Management : You’ll be responsible for building and maintaining websites that are fast, scalable, maintainable and accessible. Leverage page builders like Bricks and Greenshift (Gutenberg) to create responsive layouts.
- Custom Development and Integrations : Develop and customize WordPress themes and plugins, and seamlessly integrate third-party APIs and CRM systems to meet specific project requirements.
- Technical Optimization and Troubleshooting : Manage custom post types, optimize website performance, and ensure SEO best practices and accessibility standards are met. Troubleshoot and resolve website issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
REQUIREMENTES
- Proven experience as a WordPress Developer, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
- Solid understanding of WordPress core and architecture
- Proficiency in HTML5 , CSS3 , and JavaScript
- Comfortable working with PHP , particularly in a WordPress context
- Accessibility best practices (WCAG compliance, semantic markup)
- Commitment to performance-focused development , optimizing page speed, minimizing bloat, and following best practices for clean, efficient, and scalable code throughout the entire build process.
- Strong eye for UI / UX and attention to visual detail
- Experience with popular Wordpress page builders such as Bricks (First Priority), and Greenshift (Gutenberg) .
- Extensive experience with the WooCommerce Ecosystem.
- Proficiency with Custom Content Management using Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) and / or Metabox.
- Understanding of SEO and Local SEO best practices
- Experience integrating with CRMs, email marketing tools, or third-party APIs
BONUS SKILLS
- Familiarity with Automatic CSS (ACSS) or similar utility-based systems.
- Copywriting skills for website content.
- Graphic and asset design skills using tools like Adobe Creative Suite or Figma.
- Experience with website analytics .
- Experience with other CMS platforms.
- Experience with headless wordpress.
