Job Summary :

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Engineer with 8+ years of professional experience in backend engineering to join our Settlements team. This is a mission-critical, high-ownership role focused on leading the development and integration of new banking connectors.

Your expertise will be crucial in building and maintaining highly available, reliable, and performant fiat transaction systems that directly impact transaction speed, uptime, and customer trust.

You will work closely with internal teams and external banking partners to deliver robust API and non-API integrations, build resilience into our transaction processing, and improve operational service-level agreements (SLAs).

Key Responsibilities :

Banking Connector Development & Integration : Design, build, and deploy new banking integrations to expand our transaction network. This includes architecting and implementing robust API and non-API integrations with banking partners and Payment Service Providers (PSPs).
System Reliability & Performance : Implement advanced fault-tolerant architectures, including sophisticated retry logic, circuit breakers, and fallback mechanisms, to ensure consistent and reliable transaction delivery even under high load or in the face of external system failures.
Standards & Protocols : Apply a deep understanding of financial messaging and payment standards such as ISO 20022 SWIFT, NACHA, and other relevant protocols to ensure compliance, interoperability, and security across all integrations.
Operational Excellence & Monitoring : Collaborate closely with product, operations, and compliance teams to maintain and continuously improve operational SLAs for all fiat transactions. You will also be the primary weekday on-call engineer for banking-related services, responsible for ensuring the rapid resolution of production issues.
Scaling & Infrastructure : Contribute to the architectural design and scaling of our high-volume, low-latency transaction systems. Your work will focus on optimizing system throughput, reducing latency, and enhancing the overall capacity of our transaction infrastructure to support a rapidly growing user base.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

Core Experience :

8+ years of professional experience in backend engineering with TypeScript and / or Go.

A proven track record of successfully integrating with banking systems, Payment Service Providers (PSPs), or Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) platforms.

Technical Proficiency :

Strong expertise in ISO 20022 SWIFT, NACHA, or other financial messaging / payment standards.

Hands-on experience building and maintaining production-grade financial integrations, both API and non-API.

The ability to troubleshoot complex transaction flows and pinpoint issues within high-availability distributed systems.

Professional Attributes :

A strong ownership mindset and a demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment.

Preferred Skills :

Prior experience in high-volume fintech or payments environments.

Knowledge of global banking systems and cross-border settlement processes.

Experience with automated monitoring, alerting, and incident response for financial systems (e.g., using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK stack).

Strong communication skills for working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Experience contributing to architectural decisions related to scaling transaction systems
