Position : Mechanical BIM / Design / Planning Engineer

Qualification : B.E. / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

Experience : 5 to 12 Years

Project Nature : Commercial / Residential / Industrial-Buildings

Role & responsibilities

MEP BIM Modelling

Develop, manage, and update MEP BIM models using software such as Revit, Navisworks, or similar platforms.
Coordinate multidisciplinary models to detect and resolve clashes before construction.
Maintain model accuracy, incorporating design revisions and as-built information.
Generate coordinated drawings (plans, sections, and schedules) and extract quantities from the BIM model.
Implement BIM Execution Plan (BEP) and ensure adherence to project BIM standards.
Collaborate with design and construction teams for 3D BIM deliverables.
Support digital construction processes and innovation in MEP design and coordination workflows.

MEP Design

Develop and review mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) design drawings, calculations, and specifications in compliance with project standards and codes.

Coordinate with architectural and structural teams to ensure design integration and clash-free layouts.

Conduct load calculations, equipment sizing, and system selection for HVAC, electrical, fire-fighting, and plumbing systems.

Prepare design reports, material submittals, and technical documentation for client and consultant approvals.

Ensure designs comply with energy efficiency, sustainability, and safety standards.

Support value engineering exercises to optimize system design and reduce costs.

Provide technical support during construction, reviewing shop drawings and resolving design-related site issues.

MEP Planning

Study and understand project scope, contract documents, drawings, and specifications.

Adhere to company manuals, especially the Management Planning and Control System (MPCS).

Coordinate with the Project Manager for all client and consultant communications.

Prepare the Master Construction Programme (MCP) and plan resources, costs, and site establishments.

Develop the Accepted Cost Estimate (ACE) / Zero Cost Budget and monitor executed costs (LMPO).

Handle EOT requests, price escalation, and extra item claims with the Project Manager.

Prepare and verify client and subcontractor bills, rate analyses, and work orders.

Monitor daily productivity, resource allocation, and prepare reconciliation and job cost reports.

Review and certify subcontractor bills, job cost ledgers, and prepare cost control reports.

Upon project completion, prepare evaluation, performance, and completion reports as per MPCS.

Preferred candidate profile

We are looking for Mechanical BIM / Design / MEP Planning professionals to join our Corporate Office in Chennai. Candidates should have good experience in the construction field and knowledge of MEP systems (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing). Must be skilled in using Revit, Navisworks, and MS Project for planning and scheduling MEP works. The role involves project planning, coordination, and design support to ensure smooth, cost-effective, and high-quality project execution.
