As an L3 Network Engineer , you will act as the technical escalation point for network issues, leading the design, implementation, and troubleshooting of complex network infrastructures. You’ll work on enterprise-grade routing, switching, LAN / WAN, VPN, firewall, and data-center networking. Your role will also involve collaborating with cross-functional teams, mentoring junior engineers, and driving process improvements.

Key Responsibilities
Troubleshoot and resolve complex L3 networking problems (e.g., BGP, OSPF, MPLS, SD-WAN).
Design, configure, and maintain core network devices (routers, switches) and firewalls (Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, etc.).
Implement and manage VPN solutions (IPSec, SSL VPNs, DMVPN).
Monitor and optimize network performance; use network monitoring tools (like PRTG) for health checks, alerts, and capacity planning.
Perform firmware or OS upgrades on network devices, ensuring minimal disruption.
Perform root-cause analysis for recurring network issues and document resolutions to prevent future incidents.
Create, maintain, and audit network documentation : diagrams, configuration backups, runbooks, change records.
Develop and enforce network security policies and best practices.
Mentor and support L1 / L2 network engineers, providing technical guidance and training.
Lead network infrastructure projects : upgrades, migrations, network deployments in data center or branch environments.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
5+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering, particularly with L3 (routing / switching) support.
Deep understanding of TCP / IP, VLANs, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, and other routing protocols.
Experience with enterprise firewalls (Cisco, Fortinet, etc.).
Proven skills in configuring and managing VPNs (site-to-site, remote VPN).
Hands-on experience with network monitoring tools (such as PRTG or similar).
Certification such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent strongly preferred.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Willingness to work with cross-functional teams and mentor junior staff.
Experience in maintaining network documentation and configuration backups.
