Job description

Lead Unix System Administrator.

Experience : 5+ Years.

Location : Chennai.

Job Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain Unix / Linux servers.
  • Perform regular system backups, patch updates, and performance tuning.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot hardware / software issues.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and security settings.
  • Automate routine tasks using shell scripting.
  • Ensure system availability and reliability.
  • Work with other IT teams to support application deployments.
  • Document procedures and system configurations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in Unix / Linux system administration.
  • Strong knowledge of RedHat, CentOS, or similar distributions.
  • Experience with shell scripting (bash, ksh, etc.
  • Familiarity with server hardware, storage systems, and network basics.
  • Knowledge of tools like Nagios, Ansible, or similar is a plus.
  • Good communication and troubleshooting skills.
