About the role

A Chiller Technician installs maintains and repairs large-scale cooling systems diagnosing and fixing mechanical and electrical issues to ensure efficient operation . Key responsibilities include performing routine maintenance conducting emergency repairs maintaining detailed logs and ensuring compliance with safety and service standards.

Key responsibilities

Installation :

Install commission and set up chillers and related components.

Maintenance :

Perform routine checks cleaning adjustments and preventative maintenance on chiller systems including components like compressors pumps and cooling towers.

Repair :

Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical faults in refrigeration circuits motors and control systems. This includes brazing soldering and handling refrigerants.

Troubleshooting :

Diagnose and resolve problems with various components of the cooling system such as water-cooled and air-cooled chillers.

Compliance and documentation :

Adhere to all safety regulations like Lock Out / Tag Out procedures and maintain accurate records of all work performed.

Technical support :

Provide technical guidance and training to other technicians and assist with customer inquiries.

Physical requirements :

Perform physical tasks including climbing lifting and operating machinery often in various weather conditions.

Experience 8-10 years in HVAC

Required skills and qualifications

Technical knowledge :

Proficiency with refrigeration electrical systems and mechanical components of large-scale HVAC / chiller systems.

Experience :

Experience in industrial or commercial environments and with different types of chillers.

Certifications :

A relevant trade qualification a Refrigerant Handling Licence and a Construction Induction Card are often required.

Manual skills :

Ability to use a variety of tools including diagnostic analyzers welders and precision measuring equipment.

Physical fitness :

Ability to perform the physical demands of the job.
