Role Overview
The Bid Manager drives end-to-end tender and bid activities, identifying revenue opportunities and building competitive proposals to generate new business, primarily for government and large-scale projects. The role requires strong sales acumen, cross-functional collaboration, and hands-on oversight of bid documentation and client communications.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the complete bidding cycle, from opportunity identification and tender evaluation through proposal submission and post-submission negotiations.
- Develop persuasive bid documents, highlighting technical solutions and unique selling points alongside competitive pricing strategies.
- Collaborate with sales, presales, and project delivery teams to ensure bid responses align with client requirements and maximize win rates.
- Build strong relationships with prospective clients, vendors, and internal teams to support deal closure and business growth.
- Coordinate with technical specialists to prepare tailored techno-commercial proposals for clients, leveraging insights from the surveillance, smart city, and IT domains.
- Maintain accurate records for all proposals, communications, cost quotations, and negotiations to ensure compliance and enable post-bid analysis.
- Prepare and submit all bid and tender documents in line with deadlines and mandatory specifications, including e-tendering tasks as required.
- Support Management and Sales teams in pricing discussions and contract finalization.
- Track bid success rates, analyze competition, and recommend business development strategies for future growth.
- Ensure compliance with government procurement norms and client requirements at every stage.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related discipline.2–5 years’ hands-on experience in bid / proposal management, inside sales, or business development – preferably within government, infrastructure, or related sectors.Direct exposure to CCTV / Surveillance, Access Control, Smart / Safe City, IT Networking, or Hardware projects.Proficiency in bid management tools, MS Office, and government e-tendering platforms.Robust interpersonal and communication skills, with capability to influence decision-makers and drive business objectives.Detail-oriented, process-driven, and adept at managing multiple bids / priorities simultaneously.
