Lead Software Developer - MEAN / MERN Stack

We're looking for a Lead Software Developer to drive the architecture, development, and delivery of our software platforms powering next-generation molecular diagnostics and digital pathology systems. This is a foundational leadership role with a clear path to Software Manager as the team grows. This role reports to the Director of Innovation / Revenue. You will lead the design and development of full-stack applications that manage lab workflows, connect to smart hardware, and deliver results in clinical and research environments. You'll also play a key role in building and mentoring a lean, high-performance engineering team.

Responsibilities :

• Lead and contribute to development across the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Node.js ).
• Architect and build robust, scalable, and secure web applications and internal tools.
• Collaborate closely with hardware, product, and biology teams to ensure seamless software-hardware integration.
• Mentor junior engineers, review code, and establish clean engineering practices.
• Own project planning, sprints, and delivery timelines.
• Contribute to DevOps workflows (CI / CD, versioning, testing pipelines).
• Continuously improve system design and tech choices to support long-term scalability.
• Build and grow a small, agile software team with a focus on quality and ownership.
