In the Pharmaceutical Sciences Small Molecules (PSSM) department, we focus on developing active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), formulations, and manufacturing processes to transform laboratory candidates into potential new drugs. PSSM plays a pivotal role in making todays discoveries tomorrows medicines.As a member of the Data Sciences Drug Product Statistics group, you will support various development projects that advance chemical entities to the market.Your role involves collaborating with research and development project teams, providing advice on experimental design strategies, conducting data analyses, and effectively communicating results.These efforts ensure the safety, efficacy, and marketability of pharmaceutical products while also contributing to the advancement of new concepts and methodologies.Responsibilities
- Collaborate with science and technology lines within Pharmaceutical Sciences to support drug product manufacturing processes, analytical method development, and regulatory activities.
- Demonstrate initiative in solving pharmaceutical research problems by influencing collaborators, improving methods, and workflows while ensuring the use of sound statistical thinking, techniques, and predictive models.
- Communicate results clearly and concisely to project teams to aid decision-making processes. Prepare internal and external reports, presentations, and manuscripts using statistical and business acumen.
- Ensure that all statistical activities adhere to relevant regulatory requirements and Pfizer standards.
- Pursue business-related research interests and represent Pfizer externally.
Qualifications
Must-Have :
- MSc in Statistics or related field, with at least two years statistical consulting experience, or a PhD in Statistics or related field with some demonstrated statistical consulting experience.
- Strong statistical knowledge in descriptive, inferential statistics, and applied linear models. Proficiency in statistical software such as R, SAS, S+, Minitab, or equivalent.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to explain complex statistics clearly in the context of experimental objectives.
- Ability to work effectively within teams and build relationships with customers and partners.
- Aptitude to identify and understand relevant scientific literature and apply gained knowledge to projects.
Nice-to-Have :
- Significant coursework in a scientific discipline (chemistry, computing, engineering).
- Prior experience in pharmaceutical research and development.
- Proven track record of integrating statistical techniques into pharmaceutical engineering applications to achieve business results.
- Statistical experience in a regulated scientific environment, knowledge of ICH guidance, or pharmacopoeia monographs
