This is a full time role with our global client.
Summary
The COE Technical Manager is essential for driving the design and development of LV
to EHV Electrical products primarily for Surge arresters / Insulators required for
establishing TE SA COE for IEEE business which can also be leveraged for IEC
(domestic portfolio). The role needs a full understanding of the system
architecture where the Surge Arrester is used in Transmission lines, Sub
stations / Switch gear applications and design considerations impacting the
product parameters and performance. The current team lacks the specialized
expertise required for insulation design, electrical stress analysis, and other
critical areas, which are essential for ensuring the reliability and performance
of Surge Arresters. Convert customer requirements to design specifications
and ensure compliance meeting product design, quality and project schedule.
Purpose of the Role
To lead and ensure the robustness of Electrical designs for LV to EHV
products, meeting stringent industry and quality standards and customer
specifications. Delivering the Product with full accountability on Design and
Quality performance. Setting technical standards, evaluating new
technologies, managing projects from conception to completion, ensuring
compliance, and serving as the main liaison between technical teams and
other stakeholders.
Key Metrics of the Role
Key Deliverables
EHV products, including surge arresters, Gas Insulated Switchgear
(GIS), cable accessories, solar products, current transformers (CT),
potential transformers (PT), and transformers.
design and electrical stress analysis to ensure product reliability and
performance.
and power system analysis, and design both outdoor and indoor
electrical systems.
(PD) analysis and transient over voltage analysis to identify and
mitigate potential issues.
earthing and grounding systems.
to the design and development of EHV products.
element analysis (FEA) simulations.
and power arc analysis to ensure product safety and compliance.
interference (EMI) and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)
standards.
relevant industry standards (e.G., IEC, IEEE).
external partners and suppliers, to develop and optimize products.
verification and validation to ensure product quality and
performance.
industrialization and commercialization.
Qualification & Experience
electrical components, with a focus on LV to EHV products preferably
in Surge Arresters portfolio.
electrical stress analysis.
such as surge arresters, GIS switchgear, cables, cable accessories,
solar products, CT, PT, and transformers.
outdoor and indoor electrical systems.
(Overhead and Underground equipment) is a strong advantage.
