Job Summary :
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Performance Tester with at least 7 years of hands-on experience primarily using Apache JMeter or LoadRunner. The ideal candidate will possess strong scripting skills in JavaScript or TypeScript, with experience in modern automation frameworks such as Cypress, TestCafe, WebdriverIO, Puppeteer, or Playwright.
You will be responsible for leading performance testing efforts throughout the entire lifecyclefrom planning to execution and analysis. You will also mentor junior testers and collaborate across teams to optimize system performance.
Key Responsibilities :
Performance Strategy & Planning :
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs).
- Define comprehensive test strategies, SLAs, and performance objectives.
- Identify critical user journeys and develop workload models based on production data.
Test Design & Scripting :
Develop modular, reusable JMeter or LoadRunner test scripts utilizing advanced components.Implement parameterization and correlation for realistic simulation of user behavior.Prepare and manage test data; ensure test environments are properly configured.Test Execution & Monitoring :
Execute various performance tests including Load, Stress, Spike, Endurance, and Scalability tests.Monitor application and infrastructure performance using tools such as AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Grafana, Kibana, InfluxDB, or New Relic.Track critical system metrics including CPU, memory usage, garbage collection, and database performance.Performance Analysis & Tuning :
Analyze test results to identify performance bottlenecks.Work closely with developers, DBAs, and DevOps teams to implement fixes and retest.Perform root cause analysis for slowdowns, errors, and system failures.Reporting :
Prepare detailed performance test reports highlighting response times, error rates, percentiles, and resource utilization.Document findings, root causes, and recommendations for improvement.Present results and insights clearly to technical and business stakeholders.Best Practices & Continuous Improvement :
Advocate and implement performance engineering best practices across the team.Ensure adherence to scripting standards, version control, and use of reusable test components.Support CI / CD pipelines by integrating performance tests with Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.Required Skills :
Extensive experience (7+ years) with Apache JMeter or LoadRunner.Strong scripting skills in JavaScript or TypeScript.Exposure to modern test automation tools such as Cypress, TestCafe, WebdriverIO, Puppeteer, or Playwright.Proficiency in performance monitoring and APM tools like AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Grafana, etc.Solid understanding of system architecture, databases, and infrastructure monitoring.Experience in mentoring and leading performance testing efforts.Familiarity with CI / CD integration and DevOps collaboration.(ref : hirist.tech)
