Job description

Environmental Compliance :

Ensure construction activities comply with local environmental laws and international standards (e.g., ISO 14001).

Monitor environmental permits and reporting obligations.

Risk Assessment :

Conduct environmental risk assessments (air, water, soil, noise) at construction sites.

Recommend mitigation measures for impacts related to dust, noise, and hazardous waste.

Waste Management :

Oversee proper disposal and segregation of hazardous and non-hazardous waste.

Promote recycling and environmental sustainability practices on-site.

Monitoring and Reporting :

Monitor air, water, and soil quality near construction areas.

Prepare environmental reports, incident logs, and audit documentation.

Training and Awareness :

Train workers and subcontractors on environmental policies and practices.

Promote a culture of environmental responsibility and awareness.

Incident Investigation :

Investigate environmental incidents (e.g., spills, leaks) and recommend corrective actions.

Maintain a record of non-conformities and implement preventive measures.

Collaboration :

Work closely with project managers, site engineers, and regulatory bodies.

Liaise with environmental consultants and third-party auditors as needed.

Qualifications & Skills :

Education : Degree or diploma in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
Certifications : NEBOSH, ISO 14001 : 2015 EMS Auditor / Lead Auditor, or equivalent HSE qualifications.
Experience : 6+ years in HSE with focus on environmental safety, preferably in the construction sector.
Skills : Knowledge of local environmental regulations, strong reporting, communication, and training skills.
