The function of the corporate legal team is to inter-alia draft, review and / or vet responses to legal notices, customer escalations and / or governmental or semi-governmental enquiries. The legal team is responsible to manage all legal risks associated with legal notices and customer escalations and advice on mitigating such risks while finding structured legal solutions to do business in an efficient manner within the parameters of applicable law. The candidate will have to carry out all such matters assigned by the reporting manager.
Role & responsibilities
Business Requirement :
- Drafting, vetting, reviewing, legal notice replies, customer escalations, correspondences with government and semi-government agencies, onward legal notices in relation business of the company and / or in relation intellectual property disputes / claims;
- Strategizing for all pre-litigation actions to be taken on behalf of the company or against the company;
- Co-ordinate with external lawyers on relevant mandates;
- To be the single point of contact within the legal team for all stakeholders in relation to all pre-litigation matters.
- Preparing and documenting various legal policies and process notes and implementing the same;
- Identifying existing legal risk framework within the organization and suggesting mitigations;
Ancillary :
Conduct knowledge management sessions for the various businesses and the legal team;MIS management and managing audits;Strengthening and streamlining processes;Ensure adherence to culture with focus on Integrity, Discipline, Teamwork (no silos);Other legal matters as decided by the functional head
Preferred candidate profile
Minimum - 6 years of hands on experience in dealing with customer grievances and litigation
Qualification Required
Law graduate / post-graduate
Additional Skills
Sound knowledge of legal processes for litigation and recovery.Sound knowledge of core lending and peripheral systems & processes.Should have excellent understanding of process and regulations governing NBFCs and HFCs;Should have excellent understanding of corporate laws, RBI and SEBI regulations;Should be an individual contributor;Should be able to work in collaboration with other departments and take responsibility of the profile being handledSkills Required
