Job Description
We’re looking for a Mechanical Engineer experienced in cycloidal drives, custom gearboxes, and motor selection to power compact, high-torque prosthetic systems. You’ll be involved in the mechanical architecture, design validation, and performance optimization of electromechanical actuation systems within prosthetic limbs.
Responsibilities :
- Design and simulate cycloidal and planetary gear systems optimized for compact, lightweight prosthetic joints.
- Select appropriate motors and reduction systems for torque, speed, and power efficiency.
- Collaborate with product designers and embedded engineers to ensure seamless mechanical-electrical integration.
- Run FEA, motion, and tolerance analyses to validate mechanical robustness.
- Optimize designs for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA), considering medical device constraints.
Skills & Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.Strong experience with Cycloidal and Harmonic drive systems, motion control, and gear kinematics.Proficiency in CAD tools (Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or equivalent).Knowledge of materials and lightweight structural design for wearable robotics.Experience integrating servo / brushless DC motors and encoders.
