Role Overview
We are seeking an exceptional IBDP Physics Tutor (Part-Time, Online) to guide high school students through the rigor of the IB Diploma Programme Physics (SL / HL) curriculum. The ideal candidate combines deep subject expertise with the ability to simplify complex scientific concepts and mentor students toward academic excellence. This is a remote, flexible role suited to educators passionate about personalised learning and student success.
Key Responsibilities
- Academic Instruction
- Deliver high-quality online lessons aligned to the IBDP Physics SL / HL syllabus.
- Teach core topics including mechanics, waves, electricity & magnetism, thermal physics, nuclear physics, and modern physics.
- Conduct problem-solving sessions focused on exam-style questions and past IB papers.
- Support students with Internal Assessments (IA) by guiding research design, data analysis, scientific writing, and academic integrity.
Student Mentorship
Assess students’ strengths and gaps; create personalised learning plans.Provide clear, supportive feedback after each session.Mentor students on scientific thinking, lab skills, and exam strategy.Track progress and communicate milestones to students and parents.Lesson Delivery & Planning
Prepare structured lesson plans, notes, and practice problem sets.Maintain punctuality and consistency for all scheduled classes.Use digital tools (Zoom, Google Meet, whiteboard platforms, simulations) effectively.Qualifications Required
Strong academic background in Physics, Engineering, or a related field.Prior experience teaching IBDP Physics (SL / HL).Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify advanced concepts.Comfort with online teaching tools and digital assessments.PreferredMaster’s degree in Physics / Engineering or teaching certification.Experience evaluating or mentoring IB IAs.Familiarity with the Extended Essay (EE) supervision process.Work Structure
Part-time, flexible scheduling based on student availability.
Remote / online role with 1 : 1 or small-group sessions.
