Capital Time Tracking Analyst (ServiceNow & Tech Capital Governance Focus)
Job Summary :
The Time Tracking Data Analyst is responsible for managing and analyzing timesheet data within ServiceNow, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and usability across the Technology and Finance organizations. This role combines administrative ownership of ServiceNow Time Tracking with analytical reporting responsibilities and provides thought leadership on how capital time should be governed in a technology organization. The analyst will deliver reporting and insights to senior leaders, partner with Finance and Capital Planning on CapEx / OpEx reporting and define best practices for leveraging ServiceNow as a governance and compliance tool.
Key Responsibilities :
ServiceNow Administration & Data Management :
- Maintain and update project and timesheet data in ServiceNow, including weekly project setup and configuration.
- Ensure accuracy of time tracking records, performing reclassifications and adjustments as required by Capital Planning or Finance.
- Provide Tier 1 support for ServiceNow Time Tracking users, troubleshooting and escalating issues as needed.
Reporting & Analytics :
Generate weekly timesheet reports for Technology leaders to track project vs. non-project allocations and validate resource utilization.Produce monthly Finance-focused reports to support CapEx vs. OpEx analysis and financial planning.Deliver ad hoc reporting and dashboards in ServiceNow to support executive decision-making.Identify data trends and provide insights to improve financial transparency and resource governance.Governance & Thought Leadership :
Define and promote best practices for governing capital time in a technology organization, ensuring compliance with financial policies.Partner with Finance, Capital Planning, and Technology leadership to implement governance frameworks and controls.Recommend and champion enhancements to ServiceNow workflows, configurations, and reporting to strengthen governance and accountability.Educate and advise stakeholders on how ServiceNow can best be used to drive time tracking discipline and improve financial transparency.Qualifications : Required :
5–10 years of professional experience in data analysis, reporting, or systems administration roles.Extensive hands-on experience with ServiceNow, including administration, reporting, and workflow optimization.Strong understanding of CapEx vs. OpEx accounting principles and how they apply to Technology organizations.Proven ability to establish or improve governance frameworks around time tracking and project reporting.Strong analytical skills, proficiency in Excel and ServiceNow reporting / dashboards.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence both technical and financial leaders.Preferred :
Prior experience working with Finance, Capital Planning, or Technology leadership teams in a governance or reporting capacity.Knowledge of enterprise project portfolio management (PPM) or financial systems that integrate with ServiceNow.Experience driving process improvement and governance initiatives in large, complex organizations.Success in This Role :
