Overview : The Ward Staff Nurse plays a pivotal role in delivering compassionate and high-quality medical care within a hospital setting. This position is integral to patient recovery, providing an array of medical services, support, and education while working closely with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals. The Ward Staff Nurse is responsible for maintaining a safe and supportive environment for patients, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being throughout their hospital stay. They assess patient conditions, administer medications, and track progress, making adjustments to care plans as necessary. The role demands a great level of clinical expertise and interpersonal skills to connect with patients and families, alleviating their anxieties and providing education on treatment options.   • Key Responsibilities : Conduct initial patient assessments and establish care plans.
  • Administer medications and monitor patient reactions.
  • Provide essential nursing care, including wound dressing and IV management.
  • Document and maintain accurate patient records in compliance with hospital protocols.
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare staff on patient treatment plans.
  • Educate patients and families about treatment plans and follow-up care.
  • Assist with diagnostic procedures and the use of medical equipment.
  • Work closely within a multidisciplinary team for optimal patient outcomes.
  • Respond to patient emergencies and facilitate necessary interventions.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the ward.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment for patients.
  • Monitor and report changes in patient conditions to the supervisory nurse.
  • Participate in ward meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
  • Support and mentor junior staff and nursing students.
  • Provide emotional support to patients and families in distress.
  • Required Qualifications : Registered Nurse (RN) license in the relevant state.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (ADN or BSN).
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical nursing experience preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Strong understanding of infection control principles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Critical thinking and decision-making abilities.
  • Compassionate and caring attitude towards patients.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including night and weekend shifts.
