Mata Amritanandamayi Mandir Trust (MAMAT) is developing one of India's most ambitious Cultural and Heritage Theme Parks at Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu — an 83-acre destination integrating ancient Indian temple architecture, monumental stone craftsmanship, and cutting-edge immersive technologies .
The project centers around a 108-meter-high dressed stone sanctum , conceived as a millennium-grade monument the Pride of Bharat . Complementing this centerpiece are immersive museums, multimedia theatres, monumental water shows, and curated experiential zones envisioned to receive millions of visitors annually .
MAMAT collaborates with leading architects, sthapathis, structural experts, stone technologists, and creative consultants to achieve a global benchmark in heritage architecture, sustainability, and spiritual experience — targeting completion by 2029 .
Role : Architectural & Design Coordination – Monumental Stone Structures
Core Responsibilities
1. Design Review & Management
- Review architectural, structural, and MEP drawings specific to dressed stone masonry and monumental-scale construction .
- Verify accuracy in stone block sizing, jointing systems, interlocks, anchorage, and load transfer mechanisms.
- Maintain a centralized register of design revisions, RFIs, and interdisciplinary approvals, ensuring full version control.
- Identify and highlight early-stage design conflicts between stone, steel, RCC, and lime-pozzolana interfaces to prevent rework.
2. Coordination & Stakeholder Communication
Facilitate technical coordination meetings between architects, sthapathis, structural engineers, CNC fabrication teams, and site execution staff.Act as the design–execution bridge , providing on-site clarifications and verifying constructability of stone assembly details.Coordinate with heritage experts, sthapathis, and Vastu consultants to maintain architectural integrity and traditional alignment.Ensure shop drawings and CNC cutting files (STL / DWG formats) reflect approved architectural intent and tolerance limits.3. Compliance & Quality Control
Ensure all designs meet heritage, safety, and structural standards , including load paths, seismic resilience, and long-term weather durability.Validate detailing related to lime mortars, dressed stone joints, plug & tenon mechanisms, clamp fixings, and waterproofing transitions .Support third-party technical reviews (SERC, IITs, academic / heritage bodies) for compliance and certification.4. Documentation & Reporting
Prepare and circulate design coordination minutes, progress trackers, and approval matrices .Maintain a live design dashboard tracking drawing dependencies, decision bottlenecks, and structural clearances.Document as-built deviations and propose corrective design measures where necessary.5. Execution & Field Integration
Liaise with site engineers, fabrication teams, and CNC workshops to ensure accurate implementation of stone profiles and joints.Review and approve shop / fabrication drawings for stone courses, buttresses, domes, capitals, and column assemblies.Support periodic architectural quality audits and visual inspections of finished stonework.Qualification & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Architecture (B.Arch) or equivalent; Master's in Heritage / Monumental Architecture / Conservation Studies preferred.5–15 years of experience in design coordination or architectural management of temples, heritage monuments, or stone-based structures .Proven capability in multi-disciplinary coordination (Architecture–Structure–Services–Heritage).Strong understanding of dressed stone construction , lime-based systems, and traditional Indian structural vocabulary .Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, and BIM-based coordination tools ; exposure to CNC fabrication and STL modeling workflows is an advantage.Familiarity with Vastu principles, sthapathi methods, and Indian temple geometry preferred.Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with consultants, cultural institutions, and executing teams.Willingness to work full-time on-site at Mahabalipuram / Chennai , coordinating daily between office, design consultants, and workshops.Skills Required
Rhino, Autocad, Revit
