About the Role
Join our team as an AML Systems and Data Analyst in the heart of Financial Crime Operations (FCO) , where you'll play a critical role in safeguarding the BOQ Group against financial threats. As the AML Systems and Data Analyst , you’ll be at the forefront of detecting and mitigating risks across Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Counter-Terrorism Financing (CTF), Transaction Monitoring, Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs), and Sanctions Screening. Your analytical expertise will help uncover financial irregularities and drive strategic insights that strengthen our compliance and operational resilience.
In this role, you’ll manage a dynamic pipeline of AML projects, lead the development and refinement of detection scenarios, and collaborate across operational, risk, and technology teams. You’ll also support the enhancement of financial crime detection systems and contribute to data governance and technical mapping processes. If you're passionate about data, systems, and making a meaningful impact in financial crime prevention, we’d love to hear from you.
About you
You’re a detail-oriented and analytical thinker with experience in financial crime, data analytics, or pipeline management. You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field, and you’re confident working with tools like SQL, R, Python, Power BI, and Databricks. Your strong communication skills—both written and verbal—enable you to collaborate effectively across teams, and you thrive whether working independently or as part of a group.
Ideally, you bring additional qualifications in Data Science or Financial Crime Risk, such as ACAMS certification, and have hands-on experience with financial crime detection systems including transaction monitoring, screening, and case management. You may have worked in a digital banking environment and have a solid understanding of AML / CTF or sanctions controls. Knowledge of data infrastructure design and governance processes will further set you up for success in this role.
