About the Role

We are seeking a VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) engineer to work out of Nagpur location. You will own day2 operations and steadystate reliability of the VCF stack — with a focus on

vSphere, vSAN, vRealize Operations (vROps / VMware Aria Operations),

and

NSX

(including basic firewall rule configuration and overlay networking). You will work closely with customer IT teams to maintain platform health, implement changes, and proactively optimize capacity and performance.

Key Responsibilities

Day2 Operations & Reliability

Monitor, triage, and resolve incidents; drive problem management and rootcause analysis.

Perform routine health checks and remediation across vSphere, vSAN, NSX, and vROps.

Platform Administration

vSphere : clusters, resource pools, DRS / HA, vMotion / Storage vMotion, templates, VM lifecycle.

vSAN : storage policies, capacity planning, resync monitoring, performance troubleshooting.

NSX (NSXT) : segments / overlays, T0 / T1 gateways (awareness), distributed firewall (DFW) rules, NAT, basic load balancing concepts.

vROps / Aria Operations : dashboards, alert tuning, capacity / performance analytics, reporting.

Security & Compliance

Implement and validate basic

firewall rules

and segmentation policy in NSX per standards.

Adhere to customer change control, audit, and security practices.

Stakeholder Management & Handover

Provide status updates, capacity / performance reports, and KBs.

Conduct knowledge transfer to customer operations teams.

MustHave Skills

Strong handson with

vSphere

administration in production (cluster design, HA / DRS, VM lifecycle, patching / updates).

Practical

vSAN

operations experience (policybased management, health & performance troubleshooting).

Working knowledge of

NSXT

for day2 ops : overlay / segments, basic routing concepts (T0 / T1 awareness),

distributed firewall

rule creation / validation, NAT.

Experience with

vROps / VMware Aria Operations

for monitoring, alerting, capacity planning, and reporting.

Solid understanding of data center networking (L2 / L3 fundamentals) and storage basics.

Comfortable with change / incident processes (ITILaligned) and writing / runbook documentation.

Good to Have

Exposure to

SDDC Manager / VCF LCM , NSX load balancing, microsegmentation design.

Knowledge of

SRM ,

HCX ,

Aria Automation / Orchestrator (vRO) .

Scripting / automation (PowerCLI / PowerShell; Python nice to have).

Experience with enterprise backup / DR tooling and integrations.

Hardware / platform familiarity (Dell / HP / Cisco UCS) and firmware / driver best practices.

Experience & Qualifications

4–7 years

total experience in VMware virtualization & softwaredefined data center operations.

2+ years

• handson with vSphere & vSAN;

1–2 years

with NSXT day2 operations.

Prior experience operating vROps / Aria Operations in production.

Certifications (preferred) :

VCPDCV (required or in progress), VCPNV (plus), VCAP (plus).

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / IT or equivalent practical experience.
