Job Summary :
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented OT Nurse to join our surgical team. The ideal candidate will have 3–4 years of experience in perioperative nursing, providing high-quality care and ensuring safe, efficient surgical procedures. The OT Nurse will work closely with surgeons, anesthetists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver optimal patient outcomes before, during, and after surgery.
Key Responsibilities :
Pre-Operative Responsibilities :
- Prepare the operating theatre, ensuring all necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment are sterilized and ready.
- Verify patient details, consent forms, and surgical site marking prior to surgery.
- Assist in positioning and preparing patients for surgery while maintaining comfort and dignity.
- Conduct pre-surgery checks in collaboration with anaesthetists and surgical teams.
Intra-Operative Responsibilities :
Assist surgeons by anticipating needs, passing instruments, and maintaining a sterile field.Monitor patient condition during surgery and report changes promptly.Manage surgical instruments, swabs, and equipment throughout the procedure.Uphold strict aseptic and infection control standards.Post-Operative Responsibilities :
Provide immediate care to patients post-surgery, ensuring safe transfer to the recovery area.Monitor vital signs, document nursing observations, and report any complications.Assist in cleaning, restocking, and preparing the theatre for subsequent cases.Support patient recovery and provide education for post-surgical care.Qualifications and Requirements :
Education : Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution.License : Valid Nursing Registration / License from relevant Nursing Council.Experience : Minimum 3–4 years of OT or perioperative nursing experience .Skills :o Sound knowledge of surgical instruments, procedures, and sterilization techniques.
o Excellent teamwork and communication abilities.
o Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety standards.
o Ability to remain calm and efficient in high-pressure surgical environments.
Preferred Attributes :
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) .Experience in multi-specialty surgeries (e.g., general surgery, orthopedics, gynecology, ENT, etc.).Knowledge of operating theatre equipment and computerized medical records systems.Working Hours :
Rotational shifts as per hospital schedule, including weekends or emergencies if required.Reporting To :
