Reporting to - Regional Field Service Manager / Sr. Field Service Engineer
Key Responsibilities :
1. Site Survey & Pre-Installation Planning Conduct detailed site assessments and infrastructure evaluations to ensure readiness for robotic system installation. Coordinate with hospital teams to align space, utilities, and clinical workflow compatibility.
2. System Installation Execute complete setup, installation, and system validation of surgical robotic platforms at hospital sites. Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and configuration protocols.
3. Staff Technical Training Provide comprehensive on-site training to hospital biomedical engineers, OR staff, and surgeons on system operation and troubleshooting. Document training completion and competency feedback.
4. Breakdown Response & Troubleshooting Respond to emergency service requests to diagnose and resolve system failures. Apply root cause analysis and corrective actions to minimize downtime.
5. Preventive Maintenance Perform scheduled maintenance activities as per defined service intervals and standards. Document PM execution and flag potential future issues proactively.
6. System Upgrades Implement hardware and software upgrades in alignment with manufacturer bulletins and update schedules. Validate post-upgrade performance and communicate changes to hospital staff.
7. Hospital Spares & Inventory Coordination Manage local spare parts inventory in coordination with the Zonal Field Service Manager and logistics team. Ensure proper part handling, documentation, and timely reporting of part usage.
8. Conference & Demo Support, Support system set up, demonstration, and technical readiness for conferences, exhibitions, and live surgery events.
9. Surgery Support Provide technical presence and backup during surgeries involving robotic systems to ensure system integrity and operational readiness.
Required Skills : Strong analytical and diagnostic abilities Excellent interpersonal and communication skills High level of professionalism, discretion, and service orientation Willingness to travel frequently across assigned zones Familiarity with service reporting tools, ERP, and CRM systems.
Qualification :
Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field 3–5 years of experience in field service or technical support (medical devices preferred)
Strong hands-on experience with electro-mechanical systems and software troubleshooting Knowledge of hospital workflows and operating room environments
