Our client, a global consulting firm, is engaged by a leading consumer products company to drive a large-scale Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) transformation initiative. The project aims to overhaul the client's planning processes to improve customer fill rates, inventory optimization, and forecast accuracy across its value chain.
To support on this initiative, the client is looking to onboard a Demand Planner with Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) experience in the FMCG industry. This engagement forms part of a broader operations excellence and digital transformation effort, which also includes the implementation of advanced planning tools such as Kinaxis. The consultant(s) will play a critical role in supporting the consulting team and client leadership to design, operationalize, and sustain a best-in-class S&OP framework for the business.
Key Responsibilities :
- Support the consulting team in analyzing current planning processes and identifying key improvement levers across demand, supply, and inventory planning.
- Design and implement enhanced S&OP processes, driving measurable improvements in customer service levels and inventory management.
- Collaborate closely with client functional teams (Sales, Supply Chain, Operations, and Finance) to ensure alignment on planning objectives and execution.
- Work on data-driven decision-making, leveraging analytical tools and methodologies to support forecasting accuracy and performance tracking.
- Partner with client and technology teams during the digital tool implementation phase (Kinaxis or similar), supporting configuration, testing, and go-live activities.
- Participate in project management activities-progress reviews, performance reporting, and issue resolution-to ensure on-time delivery.
Your Background :
5 to 12 years of relevant experience in S&OP, demand / supply planning, or supply chain transformation, ideally within the FMCG sector.Experience with planning tools or digital S&OP solutions (e.g., Kinaxis, SAP IBP, o9, or Anaplan) is highly desirable.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in Excel, data visualization, or analytics tools.Prior experience working with top-tier consulting firms or in client-facing transformation programs preferred.MBA from a reputed institute with a focus on Supply Chain, Operations, or Strategy.Other Information :
Project Duration : Minimum 12 months (with possibility of extension)
Engagement Type : Full-time, on-site consultant
Location : Delhi, Mumbai, or Bengaluru (travel may be required depending on project needs)
