Role Overview
We are seeking an exceptional Senior Data Scientist to join our growing insights and analytics team. This individual will play a central role in designing and executing complex ranking methodologies, building scalable data pipelines, and developing research-driven models that power our media-facing products. The ideal candidate has deep experience in both traditional market research and modern data engineering / data science , with mastery across analytics tools, programming languages, and dashboarding platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and deployment of data models, statistical frameworks, and scoring methodologies for national and global rankings.
- Design, manage, and optimize large-scale data pipelines across structured and unstructured datasets.
- Conduct advanced analyses using traditional market research methods : weighting, sampling, significance testing, survey response modeling, segmentation, etc.
- Lead web scraping , data acquisition, and data cleaning initiatives to support new and existing ranking projects.
- Build automated reporting systems and interactive dashboards using Power BI , ensuring high accuracy, transparency, and usability for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with editorial teams, client-facing teams, and subject-matter experts to interpret findings and ensure methodological rigor.
- Implement and maintain best practices in reproducible research, version control, and documentation.
- Mentor junior analysts and data scientists, promoting excellence in methodology, coding, and analytical thinking.
- Drive innovation across our ranking products by researching new methodologies, datasets, and modeling techniques.
Required Qualifications
5–8+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or research roles, ideally within market research , consulting, or media / insights organizations.Expert-level proficiency in Python and R (statistical modeling, machine learning, reproducible analysis).Strong experience with SQL (advanced querying, optimization, data modeling).Deep experience in web scraping (BeautifulSoup, Scrapy, Selenium, APIs, etc.) and automated data ingestion.Professional experience building elegant, reliable Power BI dashboards with complex data models and DAX.Strong foundation in traditional market research methods and frameworks.Experience working with large datasets, ETL processes, and cloud-based data environments.Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex analyses into clear insights for non-technical audiences.Strong project management skills and the ability to lead cross-functional data projects end-to-end.Preferred Qualifications
Experience with survey platforms and survey-based datasets (e.g., Qualtrics).Familiarity with ranking methodologies, scoring systems, or reputational research.Experience with data visualization beyond Power BI (Tableau, R Shiny, Plotly).Background in media analytics or working with high-visibility data products.What We Offer
