We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Senior Software Engineer to help design, develop, and optimize large-scale distributed systems. In this role, you will work on backend services, APIs, and microservices that power high-performance applications, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. You will play a key role in building scalable, secure, and maintainable software solutions, influencing technical architecture, and mentoring junior engineers. This is an opportunity to contribute to complex systems, implement cloud-native solutions, and shape the technical direction of the platform while working in a remote-friendly environment.

Accountabilities :

As a Backend Senior Software Engineer, you will contribute to the development and optimization of backend systems, while collaborating across teams. Key responsibilities include :

  • Design, develop, and optimize backend services, APIs, and distributed systems.
  • Build scalable, secure, and high-performance microservices and backend architectures.
  • Collaborate with product managers, front-end engineers, and data teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following best practices.
  • Investigate and resolve software issues, optimize system performance, and enhance user experience.
  • Contribute to architecture and design discussions to influence technical strategy.
  • Advocate for new technologies and development practices that improve productivity and scalability.
  • Actively participate in team discussions, code reviews, and technical decision-making.

Requirements

The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with experience in distributed systems and cloud environments. Required qualifications include :

  • 6+ years of experience in software engineering with expertise in Java and Spring Boot.
  • Proven experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and working with microservice architectures.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, and familiarity with containers and cloud-native development.
  • Strong knowledge of data structures, software design, relational and NoSQL databases, performance tuning, and caching strategies.
  • Experience with distributed systems, scalable architectures, and high-performance backend solutions.
  • Proven leadership abilities and readiness to step into a team lead role within 6 months.
  • Familiarity with event-driven architectures and messaging systems (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI / CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code is advantageous.
