Role : Writer - British Noble Press

Location : MG Road, Gurugram, India (In-office, full-time role)

About the role

British Noble Press is hiring a Writer to own and produce clear, engaging book content across genres. This is a fully hands‑on role with ownership of assigned projects : you will draft, refine, and deliver manuscript-ready material, collaborate directly with senior editors and cross‑functional teams, and manage your editorial responsibilities from research through to final draft submission. Candidates with 0–1 years of professional writing or editorial experience are encouraged to apply.

This role will be based at our office in MG Road, Gurugram.

Key responsibilities

Own and draft book chapters, case studies, anecdotes, and voice-driven content under editorial direction.

Conduct research and rigorous fact‑checking to support manuscript accuracy and authority.

Edit for clarity, flow, tone, and grammar at the paragraph and sentence level, producing clean, publish-ready drafts.

Implement editorial feedback rapidly and independently; use MS Word Track Changes and Google Docs for revision workflows.

Coordinate with senior editors, production, and design to ensure consistency in formatting, front / back matter, and final deliverables.

Create and optimize book descriptions, chapter summaries, and author bios for discoverability and marketing.

Manage assigned tasks and deadlines across multiple projects; flag risks and propose realistic mitigation steps.

Contribute to process improvements and knowledge sharing within the editorial team.

Basic (required) qualifications

0–1 years of professional writing, content creation, or editorial experience (internships, freelance, or academic publishing work are valid).

Strong command of English grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure.

Ability to write clearly, concisely, and in different tones / voices.

Comfortable with MS Word (Track Changes), Google Docs, and basic editorial workflows.

Strong research and fact‑checking skills, with attention to detail.

Able to accept and implement editorial feedback constructively and independently.

Reliable, organized, and able to manage deadlines across multiple tasks.

Preferred qualifications

Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Creative Writing, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

A portfolio of writing samples (book excerpts, long‑form articles, essays, or professionally edited pieces).

Internship or freelance experience with a publisher, magazine, content agency, or editorial team.

Interest or experience in business, leadership, self‑help, memoir, or commercial non‑fiction genres.
