Job Description (Responsibilities & Update of general ledger accounts in Accounting ERP.
- Act as the 1st level review / quality control and escalate as needed.
- Preparation / Review of Financial Statements, working papers and deliverables to Board / Management, Auditors and Regulatory Authorities.
- Prepare and / or review the supporting calculations.
- Prepare / Review US GAAP, Bermuda / Cayman Stat, and Economic Balance Sheet financial statements.
- Support in preparation / review of Bermuda Solvency and Capital return / Cayman Annual return.
- Manage Cedant reporting.
- Coordinate with the broader team and Insurance Managers on deliverables across multiple teams and functions.
- Provide support, for the annual audit, internal audit, quarterly regulatory filings, and board meetings.
- Provide ad hoc support as necessary.
- Review and assess thresholds for assets impairment in co-ordination with Investment managers and as per treaty US / India Life and Retirement Products exposure.
- Traditional and / or Annuity products preferred.
- Qualified CA / CPA with an open mindset to learn new concepts.
- 4 - 6 years of insurance / controllership or fund accounting experience related to month end closings, annual audit process, and regulatory filings (preferred to have experience with the Bermuda Monetary Authority / Cayman filings).
- Experience with designing and creating reconciliation tools and variance reporting.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to adopt a creative approach to solving complex process problems.
- Ability to manage multiple work assignments and meet time commitments.
- Strong oral and written communication skills CA / CPA (required) 4-6 years of post-qualification.
