Killis Bird is building advanced UAV and electronic hardware solutions with a strong focus on innovation, reliability, and performance. As a Hardware Design Engineer, you will be responsible for end-to-end electronic hardware development within our product development team.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Circuit Design : Analog, digital, and motor control circuits (BDC, BLDC, motor drivers).
- Power Electronics : Design of linear and switched-mode power supplies, isolated topologies.
- Motor Drives : Expertise in MOSFET-based designs, current sensing circuits.
- Communication Protocols : SPI, I²C, UART, USB, Ethernet.
- PCB Design : ECAD (Altium Designer preferred), multi-layer PCB design (4 / 6 / 8 layers, mixed signal).
- Component Engineering : Selection, BOM preparation, simulations (SPICE, LT Spice, Proteus).
- Design Standards : SI / PI analysis, EMI / EMC compliance, DFM, DFT, DFA.
- Prototyping & Validation : Board bring-up, testing, debugging, and troubleshooting.
- Tools & Equipment : DSO, logic analyzer, signal generator, thermal imager, RPS, multimeter.
- Device Development : Experience in battery-operated device design and validation.
- Documentation : Preparing design documents, test reports, and compliance documentation
Key Skills Required
Strong fundamentals in power electronics and circuit theory.Good understanding of motor drives and embedded hardware.Hands-on with ECAD tools and test equipment.Analytical and logical problem-solving mindset.Ability to work under deadlines and within a team environment.Excellent documentation and communication skills.Knowledge of relevant industry standards and compliance (e.g., RoHS, IPC)Proficient in PCB design using Altium Designer, including schematic capture and layoutHands-on experience with MOSFET-based designs, power electronics, and digital circuitsSkills Required
