We are looking for a skilled Storage & Backup Engineer with expertise in IBM Storage as a Service (STaaS), Backup as a Service (BaaS), Direct Attached Storage (DAS), Network Attached Storage (NAS), Storage Area Network (SAN), and Cloud block storage solutions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust storage and backup infrastructures that ensure data availability, integrity, and security across enterprise environments. This role requires deep knowledge of IBM storage platforms and cloud storage technologies, as well as experience in managing hybrid storage environments. The engineer will collaborate with IT teams to optimize storage performance, develop backup and recovery strategies, and support disaster recovery planning. Responsibilities include monitoring storage systems, troubleshooting issues, capacity planning, and ensuring compliance with data protection policies. The candidate should be proactive in adopting new storage technologies and best practices to enhance system efficiency and reliability. Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment are essential.

Responsibilities

Design, deploy, and manage IBM STaaS and BaaS solutions.

Maintain and optimize DAS, NAS, SAN, and cloud block storage systems.

Develop and implement backup and disaster recovery strategies.

Monitor storage performance and troubleshoot issues.

Plan capacity and forecast storage needs.

Ensure data security and compliance with policies.

Collaborate with IT and infrastructure teams.

Document storage configurations and procedures.

Stay updated with emerging storage technologies.

Provide technical support and training to staff.

Requirements

Proven experience with IBM storage technologies including STaaS and BaaS.

Strong knowledge of DAS, NAS, SAN, and cloud block storage architectures.

Knowledge on Isilon backup & Zadara Cloud solutions

Experience with backup and recovery solutions and disaster recovery planning.

Familiarity with storage monitoring and management tools.

Understanding of data security and compliance standards.

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Strong communication and documentation skills.

Relevant certifications in storage technologies are a plus.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
