Senior Android Engineer @ Thumo

We’re building Africa’s super-app, starting with food delivery. Founded by a team from UC Berkeley, we’re fresh off a $1.2M funding round led by Soma Capital, Sequoia Scout Fund, A16Z Scout Fund, and top Silicon Valley angels. We’re hiring a Senior Android Engineer to build on top of our existing app and lead the architectural redesign as we prepare for expansion into new African markets. This fully remote role provides you with exposure to a fast-moving Silicon Valley startup while allowing you to work IST hours from anywhere in India.

What you’ll do

• Lead Android app development : Enhance and scale our production app, implementing new features and improving performance for tens of thousands of users.
• Architect a redesign : Take ownership of modernizing our Android codebase and defining scalable architecture for rapid growth.
• Make key product decisions : Collaborate closely with designers, backend engineers, and leadership to shape product direction.
• Integrate new designs : Translate Figma mockups and iOS feature parity requirements into polished, user-friendly Android experiences.
• Mentor & guide : Provide technical leadership to junior developers and help establish Android best practices across the team.
