About the Role :

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Associate to join our Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT) practice. The ideal candidate should have 1–3 years of post-qualification experience in advising clients on technology transactions, data protection, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance . This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge issues at the intersection of law, innovation, and digital transformation.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial technology contracts , including SaaS agreements, licensing, software development, and service-level agreements.
  • Advise clients on data protection, privacy laws, and cybersecurity regulations , including compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and global data privacy standards (e.g., GDPR).
  • Assist in providing regulatory and strategic advice to clients in the telecommunications, e-commerce, fintech, OTT, and digital media sectors.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare advisory notes on issues involving AI regulation, online content governance, digital advertising, and intermediary liability .
  • Support due diligence and transactional work in technology and media sector investments , mergers, and acquisitions.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies such as TRAI, MeitY, and DoT , and assist in compliance and licensing matters.
  • Draft policies, terms of service, privacy policies, and internal compliance frameworks for clients across industries.

Key Skills & Requirements :

  • LL.B. from a recognized university; specialization in technology law, IP law, or cyber law preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience in TMT law , preferably with a leading law firm or in-house legal team.
  • Strong understanding of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 , Information Technology Act, 2000 , and sectoral regulations.
  • Excellent legal drafting, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Keen interest in emerging technologies such as AI, blockchain, digital platforms, and fintech.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and deliver under tight timelines.
